Once the client approves moving forward, we do the planning stage, we determine the statement of work, assign resources, determine the budget and timeline for delivery of the solution.
Next, we execute the plan, where we manage the project, including managing the project’s issues, risks, budget, timeline, resources, change, vendors, and progress. Depending upon the size of the project, we conduct project reviews to ensure that the project is on target and that there are no problems associated with it.
Third, we close the project by ensuring that we’ve delivered to the customer what was in the scope of the project. This includes the lessons learned, knowledge transfer, and rolling the team members off of the project.
The final step is to follow up with the client after a period of time to ensure that the project was successful. This step is what most consulting firms leave out.
